Hi, fellow bogglers!
I'm not sure if I'm supposed to just click "Reply" to post my introduction or not, but I can't see any other way to post here, so I'm trying it.
Hi! I know, I know... I'm a little late introducing myself. Better late than never though, right?
I'm NeiI, from San Diego originally, and after living in Los Angeles for a few years, I've been living in San Francisco for a couple of years and we're loving this city! I'm a dorky guy who works as a software engineer and when not at work, enjoys photography, video games, board games, and of course, I'm a word-nerd. My favorite word games are boggle and Scrabble... although I really enjoy "acro" games, too. That is, games in which you're given a word, and have to expand it as if it's an acronym, creating a sentence or phrase where each word begins with each letter of the original, given word. Even better, if you have to make your expansion relevant in meaning to the original word.
My former job, before moving up to San Fran, was at Maker Studios in the Culver City/Marina del Rey area of L.A. with "The Game Station", which later became "Polaris Network." Part of my job entailed hosting gaming news/review videos that we posted on our official website and YouTube channel, and if anyone's interested, I've posted a list of links to each of those videos on this page of my blog: http://negativeneil.blogspot.com/2014/10/Maker-Studios-Videos.html
What else? Well, I also enjoy travel and exploration/sight-seeing, playing pool and bowling (and getting my tuches kicked in both, usually by girls!), camping and hiking, cycling, and just having fun with family and friends.
And, I married my long-time girlfriend this past March 19th:
Thanks for kicking off this thread, Daniel... but most of all, for all of your hard work, building and developing this site! It's great fun and probably the most innovative Boggle site online currently. I enjoy the different sizes and shapes of grids, which makes a change from always playing on square grids!
Lastly, I've noticed there are a few other ex-Word Racer players in this site! I used to play in Social Lounge 7, and at Table 1, with a regular group of players I got to know. Hope to run into some of them on this site. I should send them the link and invite them... yeah, there's an idea!
It's interesting that you played "Threes" on Word Racer, Daniel... because our "gang" on there used to play "Fives". And on WEBoggle, we play "Sixes"... but only on the 5x5 grid.
Anyway, I've typed enough here, for now at least anyway. Hope to get to know some of you on this site, and have some friendly games. No one chats in the games much, but then the chat box should be visible while the games are in session... hint, hint! That would make it a little more social.
Take care everyone, and happy boggling.
